Fireflies, and Lightning Bugs, and June Bugs, Oh MY

I had great plans for a garden, based on what I knew about our backyard.  Then I discovered that what we had was a lovely, shaded park.  Shortly after this picture was taken, fireflies started flickering.  I'm rethinking the garden.

  1. This looks charming. You have a whole year to explore and find all the little niches and corners where you can plant things. I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the summer heat. xox

  5. It really is magical! Does it take you back to your childhood? You had none in Turlock?

  6. Hostas and impatiens, possibly in pots if the park is more public than you thought. Otherwise, in pretty beds. But your veggie gardening might be a dream! It looks beautiful, Annie and I love the fireflies!

  9. How delightful is your haiku ~ and your garden lends itself to 'fairy lights' that can be purchased with ones run by batteries ~ ^_^

    1. I think it will be a lot of one and a little (in the form of container gardens) of the other.

    1. We are delighted with it, Gillena. It was so unexpected since we had only seen pictures before we bought the house.
